Ernest Manning Weekly Rundown

Jan 12 - Jan16

Good morning Griffins,

It has been great to reconnect with all our students after the holidays. We now have two weeks of class remaining and look forward to a strong finish to Semester One before switching gears to brand new courses and a fresh start for everyone. As a complement to the detailed information found on the EMHS website, we present the weekly rundown.

EMTV – EM DAILY WEEKLY RUNDOWN

EMTV is on a hiatus as students and teachers prepare for Semester 2 startup. We are all looking forward to more exceptional school news coverage!

PARENT COUNCIL CONNECTIONS

Join the Heart of Ernest Manning High School: Your Voice Matters!

The EMHS Council and Parent Advisory Committee are looking for new board members like you to help shape the future of our school.

Parent and community involvement is one of the most powerful ways to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. By joining the School Council, you become part of a collective association with the vital role of advising the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on school matters. This is  an opportunity to use your voice—our councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority defined within the Education Act. (For more details, please see the CBE School Council Handbook).

While our bylaws require a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 members to ensure effective representation and voting, we currently need a few more dedicated volunteers to ensure our continued strength and consistency.

We are actively seeking 3–5 additional parent volunteers for the roles of Vice President and Directors at large.

Your commitment:

  • Meetings: 6–7 times per year.
  • Time Commitment: Just 2–3 hours per month.

Please consider stepping forward to serve your school community and email chair@emhs.cbe.ca

The remaining meetings for the 2025/2026 year will be:

  • February 18 (Face-to-face/virtual)
  • March 18 (Face-to-face/virtual)
  • May 20 (Face-to-face/virtual)

The CAREERS Internship Fairs connect Alberta high school students with paid internship opportunities through off-campus education.
